Fear not if you’ve haven’t tried indoor cycling before — with the music pumping and the lights turned low, you’ll feel right at home in the saddle. Classes are complimentary for first-time riders.

If you’ve always wanted the body of a ballet dancer, you can’t miss taking a class at Pure Barre. This innovative studio uses traditional ballet moves, coupled with Pilates, to tone your arms, legs, abs and just about everything else.

For a different kind of workout experience, try one of the pole dancing, burlesque, or belly dancing classes at Work It! Dance and Fitness and defy gravity.

Healthy Eats

Pizza and clean eating are rarely used in the same sentence, but Savor Healthy Organic Pizza strives to bring a healthy twist to take out. Just a one-minute walk away from the Even Hotel, Savor dishes up organic, handmade pies with a wide variety of toppings, including herb-crusted shrimp and wild-caught salmon. Each pizza is made with a multi-grain crust, with gluten and dairy-free options available as well.

A staple in Norwalk for over 30 years, The Lime Restaurant offers something healthy for vegetarians and carnivores alike. Menu favorites include three different types of veggie burgers — tofu, black bean and a signature vegetable-nut burger — as well as a house-made soy-carrot loaf, chicken pitas and cheeseburgers.

Get a taste of the tropics at Fragrant Basil Juice Café, an organic, family-owned spot that offers a range of gluten-free options and items that cater to food allergies and sensitivities. Fragrant Basil serves over 35 different juice and smoothie combinations, as well as more substantial offerings, from healthy breakfast items to vegan soups, salads and sandwiches.

Amazing Trails

With over 225 acres to explore, Gallaher Mansion and Cranbury Park has something to offer almost everyone, whether you’re looking to stroll beautiful grounds or a more intense run. The park surrounding the 1930s era limestone mansion features open fields, wooded areas with meandering trails, a sculpture garden and a full, 18-hole disc golf course.

Situated high above the waterfront and near Interstate 95, Oyster Shell Park feels worlds away from the traffic. Pedestrian paths circle the perimeter and offer incredible views of the Norwalk River. There is also a short, nine-hole disc golf course, and several seasonal events are held at the park’s summit.

Still under development, Norwalk River Valley Trail will eventually offer 38 miles of trails for hikers, bikers, runners and walkers. When the trail reaches its final completion, it will connect Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk to Rogers Park in Danbury, passing through Wilton, Ridgefield and Redding along the way.
